In each box, there are three workbooks that each relate to one of the GCSE Science required practicals. It includes general variations of each type of past exam question used within the last five years alongside an introduction to the topic, step-by-step instructions, specification summary and notes for parents.

Each box contains all equipment needed to run these experiments so you do not need to provide anything, except a few small items like some tap water or a way to light a candle.

STEM@Home has been developed with the support of King’s College London, UCL, Brunel University, TPXimpact, the Greater London Authority and InnovateUK.

Each product adheres to standard health and safety guidelines and is safe for home use. We have thoroughly tested our products and ensured that as many risks as possible have been minimised. A few practicals are required to be held in a well-ventilated area.

Each box contains three different required practicals.

Legally, each school has to provide a student with one opportunity to run a required practical. But what about if your child requires more time? Maybe they want to repeat it so they can really learn how the process works. STEM@Home enables children to do these practicals whenever and wherever they want. Each box contains enough equipment to be able to do each practical at least two times.

This is not a subscription service. We sell one-off boxes with a gradually expanding product suite, that can also be purchased individually.

As per the terms and conditions, there is a “no return” policy for all of our products. If a product arrives damaged or defective, we will replace the relevant items.

Up to 40% of the questions in GCSE Science formal exam papers are based on questions related to science practicals. Empowering students to repeat these practicals in their own time allows them to do better in their exams.

We initially tested STEM@Home with 30 UK students and students who used our products scored between 12%-25% higher in examinations, which means an addition of one or two extra grades.

We are currently in the process of performing further user efficacy testing with a larger cohort of students with UCL’s EDUCATE programme.

In education, being supervised by a subject specialist is always the best idea but we know that is not always possible. That is why STEM@Home was designed so practicals can be completed with any adult supervision. Our workbooks contain notes, guidance and instructions for adults.
